General Workflow

- Prepare a request for the artwork; include color schemes, ratios, fonts, and/or concepts.
- Publish the request and accept submissions.
- Filter submissions.
- Reject with prejudice pieces which do not fit the request.
- Use this opportunity to identify flaws with the request.
- Reject without prejudice pieces which fit the request but are otherwise not desirable.
- Consider modifying the request and calling for another round of submissions.
- Reject with prejudice pieces which do not fit the request.
- Send desirable submissions to the brickset designer
- Brickset designer will prepare level samples
- Identify pieces which need further work and await resubmissions.
- Reject without prejudice pieces needing serious work.
- Select desired piece.
- Brickset designer will have taken over from here.
Considerations
- Fonts are often licensed. If a person is using a font bundled with their operating even in a graphic, they must be licensed to do so just like a complete graphic. Insist on open or freeware fonts, and get the name of every font used in a graphic.
- Textures can be licensed as well. If the artist does not make their own textures then they must be clear about where their textures came from. Dead-simple procedural textures such as gradients or diagonal lines probably would not meet a threshold of originality, but it is best to ensure only original textures are used.
